Nathaniel’s Poem “Cracks” was initially selected as one of the\r\ntop 19 out of almost 1,000 entries from across the world. Then in the\r\nsemi-final round, he was ranked in the top 3!

\r\n

Nathaniel’s\r\npoem “Cracks” will be featured on the Pulitzer Center website, with the judges saying of his\r\npoem, “We agreed that you effectively highlighted a systemic issue\r\nwhile maintaining focus on the human costs.... Thank you for writing this\r\nwonderful poem and for entering it into the Fighting Words Poetry Contest.\r\nWe're honored to publish and be in community with you."

\r\n

This\r\nisn’t the first time Nathaniel has impressed with his poetry. Earlier this\r\nyear, he won second place nationally in the 11th- grade division of\r\nthe 2020 Daughters of the American Revolution Junior Citizens Poetry Contest\r\nwith another poem entitled “Milkweed.”

LPS is excited to have such a talented\r\nwordsmith in our district, and be on the lookout for his published work soon! Once again, Congratulations!
